  1. It’s taken in a full day, usually from 10am to 5:30pm (AEST) on most weekends from May – July each year. These will be held online due to COVID-19 for time being.
  2. The course was created by expert Oxbridge medics and is led by an instructor who is a medical student at one of the top universities in the country. The course is priced at $249 per student. See our reviews.
  3. By booking a crash course you are also entitled to receive a copy of our 300-page A4 course book. See samples of our materials.
  1. The course is structured into three parts: 1.We discuss each one of the 4 main UCAT sections and spend around 6hours doing this. It’s around 1.5h per section which will give you a very good understanding of what’s required in each one; 2. We then look at strategy and technique and 3. We spend an hour working through timed practice questions.   See course details & timetable.
  2. Our experienced tutors make sure that everyone’s feels confident when tackling some of the hardest questions on the UCAT.

After 6 successful years, we have taught over 10,000 students.

On our Reviews you can see what some students (like you) thought of the course.

Crash Course Overview

You have probably heard that the UCAT is the exam from hell and that you can’t actually prepare for it. This is simply not true. Even though there aren’t any facts that you must learn, you can absolutely prepare a strategy and use different techniques to tackle the exam. By learning exactly what is expected of you for each section and practicing consistently, you can absolutely prepare for the exam that “cannot be prepared for”. This is exactly what your fantastic tutors will be teaching you on the UCAT Crash Course.

Verbal Reasoning

44 questions | 21 minutes

Critical thinking is the main point they’ll be assessing you on this section. The main thing to remember is that although the questions are not as hard as in other sections, the time constraint makes this section the one with the lowest average mark.

During the course, we’ll look at the type of extracts that might come up on the exam, and what techniques are best to approach them. We’ll focus on techniques that help you read and analyse text efficiently in order to find the right answer as quickly as possible.

Quantitative Reasoning

36 questions | 24 minutes

This section is all about using efficient methods to solve the questions. The content on this portion of the exam does not go beyond your Secondary School Maths so all you have to worry about is how you approach and solve the questions.

Luckily, the questions follow the same structure over and over again.  During the course we’ll make sure you have a strong understanding of the necessary mathematical concepts before solving exam-style practice questions.

Abstract Reasoning

55 questions | 13 minutes

Recognising patterns in shapes is a great way to give your head a break during the exam, and if you have a solid strategy going into this section, you can really boost your score. Patterns can sometimes be anything but obvious, but as long as you focus on beating the clock you’ll do fine.

Mercifully, there are only so many patterns they can give you before running out of ideas. We’ll progressively show you more challenging patterns as the course progresses.

Decision Making

29 questions | 31 minutes

In the Decision Making section things get a bit more complicated. You have to use different strategies to answer the questions, and it can quickly become overwhelming. Contrarily to other sections, the questions will most likely vary significantly.

We have done the work for you so during the course we’ll take you through the different techniques used to approach each question type. This section is quite hard, but we’ll be here to give you all the support you need.

Situational Judgement

69 questions | 26 minutes

The Situational Judgement section of the UCAT is actually not included in your overall UCAT score. Your score on this section will be given separately and it will be a score from 1 to 4 – with band 1 being the highest mark. Each university will have its own way of using this score so it’s important that you don’t underestimate the potential importance given to it by your university choices.  Situational tests like the SJTs are commonly used in medical applications.

We’ll make sure to go through the most suitable approaches to the SJT questions and how to create a strategy that will boost your confidence (and your answers!).

Course Materials

The UCAT Crash Course Workbook

The Workbook is one of the most appreciated elements of the course. Although massive – 300-page A4 e-book – you will find that all the content in it it’s relevant. It might seem intimidating at first, but after a good look through our students usually find it very clear and accessible, with no unnecessary jargon. We’ve also added a ‘bit of banter’ (to quote one of our students), which ‘makes it quite a fun read’ apparently.

Table of Contents

The Table of Contents is the best way to find out if the content of the book is relevant for you. Here’s what ours looks like.

What Your Workbook Will Cover

The contents gives you a good understanding of what to expect from the workbook. This is what we aimed to provide to you with:

Before diving straight into the exam preparation, we want to give you a ‘pre-preparation’ on how to work on your own at home. This chapter is filled with helpful tips on what you should focus on when preparing, how to make a study plan and general productivity advice. A strong strategy for your UCAT exam is something every student should have.

This chapter will include some of the must-know principles and techniques for the UCAT.  There’s a clear underlining strategy that should be followed whilst applying some more section-specific methods. Essentially, you need to manage your time well, for example know when to skip a question, and other more general approaches to questions.

As with any exam, your success is directly related to how much you practice. Often, students neglect reflection and focus only on the wrong answers. You need to adapt a perfectionist attitude, look at your right answers and identify how to improve. Maybe you can be quicker? Be your own coach! The ‘Practice’ chapter will focus on ways to maximise how much you get out of each section.

All UCAT Sections

The workbook includes a comprehensive section for each one of the UCAT sections. This will give you the essential information on each section and it help you understand why the section is included in the exam. You’ll then move onto techniques and advanced tips which will help you get the highest possible score, paired with lots of practice question and fully worked solutions.
